Ordered take out from them and I cannot believe how GOOD the food was!!! First off , their gyros are delicious! I had the chicken one and it was one of the best ! It tasted fresh and their tzatziki sauce was yummy . Then came the wings !! Ordered extra crispy over the phone and I swear this was the first order I have ever had that got the wings right through takeout . They were hot , EXTRA crispy and the buffalo sauce is gooood!! Lady on the phone was very sweet and you can tell this place cares about the quality of their food . Will order again from them for sure !

Not the best but not the worst either. Give them time and let's see where they go.
I've eaten at the American Deli in Marietta Ga a couple of times and always enjoyed it. Was pleased to see that there is now one in Statesville so I decided to give them a try. With the crowded restaurants at lunchtime, always room for one more.
Walked in about 12:20 pm and a light crowd. New restaurant and everything was nice and clean, new and shinny. Prompt staff was immediately available to take my order. You order at the counter and they give you a number and when it is ready, they call out your number and you pick it up again at the counter.
Spotted one of my favorites which was the Gyro and it was available in either Steak or Lamb. Needless to say, I ordered the lamb. Side was an order or fries.
Sat down and my order came out about 10 minutes later. Looked pretty good but on examination, needs a little work.
The Fries were way overcooked to the point that they were hard. Not quite sure how they did it but they also had an oily taste. Normally if a fry is overcooked, you don't taste oil at all and you normally find that with the limp whimpy fries.
Gyro had way too much sauce on it and was a disaster to eat. Pick it up and everything tried to slide off the Pita. If the sauce was Taziki which is the traditional sauce served with a Gyro, did not have any of the traditional flavor. Lamb on the other hand was rather bland with none of the sweetness normally associated with lamb. Will give credit for the quantity of meat on the gyro however. In terms of quantity, you get you monies worth.
Lunch today to me was a wash. Neither great but not a total washout either. There are so many other items on the menu that I possibly like that I will give them another try and at least try the Reuben, another of my favorites. -

This food is good this is our second time here they give you large portions of fries with the combos . Ham sub .. good ... gyro was so good ... Philly cheesesteak so good ... the wings are even good! Would recommend 1000% but don't take my work for it ... TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!

Ok, so....a little embarrassing to be doing an update this quickly but ...ummm I was craving another cheesesteak so we went back today and got a carry out order again. The cheesesteak was terrific, super hot even after the drive home with it. My husband tried the lamb gyro, it was good but not even close to the cheesesteak. We both got the combos this time, they serve you a ton of fries. If you aren't a big eater you could split your sammie and fries and still have a decent sized meal.
I definitely want to try the wings next time, but since I got hipped to Wing King, no other place seems to measure up. 2 meals with drink was about $16.
